The ability to split up the iPad's keyboard is one of my favorite lesser-known features in iOS. Go to Settings > Face ID and passcode and select Set Up an Alternate Appearance. Option-Command-C: Copy Style: Copy the formatting settings of the selected item to the Clipboard. Although you don't see it, the sizes of the keys on the iPhone keyboard are changing all the time.

Now head to the keyboard, tap the key with the globe icon, and feast your eyes on all the emoticons. To access these effects, press and hold the send icon after you've written a message. To save even more time while typing, double tap the space bar to add a full stop (a fullstop plus a space). IOS's QuickType system-wide keyboard is clever at guessing what you're trying to write, and in many situations will auto-correct your clumsily typed screed into something far more accurate.
